With those revs comes very high oil temperatures. Most RX-8 models with manual transmissions were outfitted with dual oil coolers from the factory to keep the rotary engines oil at a safe temperature during high-speed driving and track situations. Unfortunately, over time, the stock rubber RX-8 oil cooler lines and steel fittings can severely corrode and degrade over time. The most frequent RX-8 oil cooler line to corrode is located on the left-hand side of the car near the front suspension assembly. The design of the vehicle and location of the line are apt to collect dirt and road salt from winter. With the Mishimoto replacement oil line, not only is this problematic line replaced, its replaced with a full braided stainless steel oil line and aluminium M18 to 10AN banjo fittings that will not corrode or break down over time. The Mazda RX-8 oil cooler line fits onto the vehicle with no additional modification and does not require any cutting to your vehicle or permanent removal of parts. The oil filter housing on modern VAG engines does not allow for the previously common takeoff plates to fit under the filter and divert oil into an oil cooler mounted elsewhere on the vehicle. Instead they now use a oil to water cooling ‘block’ bolted to the front of the engine, and in many cases an undersize filter, or a paper drop in element, which prevents easy fitting of an oil cooler. As many people have found, if the vehicle is tuned, or if it is towing a heavy load, oil temperatures can rocket, with oil temperatures over 120°C (250°F) being easily achieved, which is close to the point that engine oil starts to break down.The Forge Motorsport FMOC2 replaces the oil to water cooling block, and although it still allows coolant to circulate, it more importantly gives two M22 takeoffs which, when fitted with the appropriate adaptor, allow fitment of oil cooler lines between an -6 and an -10 in size which can then be attached to an external oil cooler. This oil cooler radiator is lifted straight from our motorsport department, so we know this component performs extremely well, as well as the cores tough and durable construction. Next stage was to design a kit incorporating this core which will fit the i30N Mk3.5 perfectly - the result is a bespoke oil cooler kit with true motorsport development behind it.During our time developing new products for the second generation i30N we found a significant floor with the vehicle especially when tuned. Oil temperatures can climb to dangerous levels when on track or when driven hard in hotter climates, The rising oil temperatures change the viscosity potentially thinning the oil, this will result in only one outcome, a reduction of sufficient lubrication of your engines internal components. Therefore, the FMOC13 is a must have product for the keen driver. The location of the oil cooler at the front of the vehicle’s radiator grill allows for superior air flow. Many people mount their oil coolers incorrectly which in turn stops them from working as well as they could.The oil filter housing on modern Fiat engines does not allow for the previously common take off plates to fit under the filter and divert oil into an oil cooler mounted elsewhere on the vehicle. Instead they now use an oil to water cooling ‘block’ bolted to the front of the engine, and in many cases an undersized filter or a paper drop in element, which prevents easy fitting of an oil cooler. As many people have found, if the vehicle is tuned or driven hard, oil temperatures can rocket to over 120°C (250°F) being easily achieved, which is close to the point that engine oil starts to break down. Therefore, it is essential to fit a Forge Motorsport oil cooler to your modified Fiat 500.Forge Motorsport have designed a CNC machined billet adaptor that replaces the oil to water cooling block. Although it still allows coolant to circulate, it more importantly offers two AN-10 take offs which allow fitment of the supplied oil cooler lines between the cooler itself and the Fiats engine oil galleries. Forge Engine Oil Cooler for the Audi RS4 4.2 (B7 2006-2008)

This kit has been designed to address the weakness of the stock oil cooler the cooler fitted to your car from Audi is aluminium, but the fittings on the ends of the cooler hoses are steel. The result is corrosion between the two different metals which cracks the fittings over time, causing a slow oil leak that gets worse with age, and eventually ends in a catastrophic failure of the oil cooler lines - and if you are unlucky, the engine too.Due to the corrosion setting in on the lines, they usually cannot be removed from the oil cooler without damaging it. This results in the need for the oil cooler and both lines to be replaced at a cost of over £1100 from the dealer, before you factor in consumables and labour to change the parts.Our solution uses tried and test products. It is a full replacement right from the fitting on the engine block which is precision made from 6082 billet aluminium, and then anodised to prevent any possibility of corrosion.This fitting leads to -12 AN Hose Technik black anodised aluminium fittings on Hose Technik braided lines with black overbraid.Cooling is accomplished by a 19 row Setrab oil cooler, the same manufacturer that supplies Audi and several F1 teams, again with a black finish. All the mating parts are similar materials and are tried and tested in Motorsport - there is no fear of corrosion affecting the fittings after a few years of use. The cooler is supported on a laser cut and powder coated frame that also holds the Audi fan control module in place. With everything finished in black, it makes for the ultimate stealth installation and unless you know what you are looking for, you won’t see it.The original remit of this replacement was to do away with all the troublesome Audi parts, which this kit accomplishes, but by relocating the oil cooler slightly higher than stock, we have also reduced the chances of damage from road debris.All parts needed for installation are included - bolts, nuts, washers, brackets, and full instructions, though you will need up to additional 2 litres of engine oil to account for the loss from removing your old oil cooler, and for filling the new cooler and lines.
