The Ford Sound Suppression Chamber Focus RS 2016-2018 is a direct replacement to the factory sound suppression resonance chamber. Its purpose is to reduce the intake whistle sounds that accompany aftermarket intakes. This unit is aluminum with an anodized black finish.                        

Why?
 Larger aftermarket intakes create an imbalance with the factory sound suppression chamber resulting in an audible whistle.  The COBB Ford Sound Suppression Chamber increases volume over the factory unit which cancels out the resonance to reduce or eliminate the whistle noise.  It works with most aftermarket intakes.
